PARMA HEIGHTS, Ohio — After successfully introducing free yoga in the park once a month last year at the Greenbrier Commons, yoga instructor Jill Pawloski was recently asked to return to Parma Heights for a the newly introduced Gentle Lunchtime Yoga class.
The trial run takes place at 12:30 p.m. every Tuesday during the month of March in the Cassidy Theatre.
“There’s nothing in Parma Heights or Parma really that offers this kind of thing,” said Pawloski, who has called Parma Heights home since 2006. “There’s no rec center, no yoga studio in Parma Heights. So the community and residents don’t really have a place to go to do anything.”
The idea for the Gentle Lunchtime Yoga class came from Mayor Michael P. Byrne’s assistant, Erin Lally, who Pawloski said really loved Yoga in the Park and felt the need for a de-stressing and relaxing midday respite that’s open to the community, as well as city employees.
